In-Person Activities

Northern Vermont. In-person archery program including basics such as safety and shooting, along with movement and stalking fun, traditional history, stories and naturalist knowledge (such as learning the trees and shrubs used to build bows and arrows, and knowledge of particular animals that were hunted or that can be connected with the bow and arrow).  These skills can help aspiring hunters build basic botany and animal biology knowledge, and be applied to a number of different life skills.  This program is 4 weeks long, and runs for 90 minutes per session (which includes 30 minutes of 1:1 instruction, and and hour of individual practice time).  Location varies, and has included places such as Pelkey's archery range in St. Albans, VT. South Burlington, VT. In-person educational programs at a working farm including academics, camps, a Farmer-in-Training Program, and other educational opportunities. In 2022-2023, Bread and Butter Farm is looking to start a program that will offer traditional academics (the 3 R's), along with farm skills. Contact the farm for details.

Grafton, VT. Pre-school explorer programs, summer and vacation camps.

Charlotte, VT. In-person group focused on wilderness awareness and primitive skills. There is a 5-7 year old group and a 8-13 year old group.  Groups meets every other Wednesday from 9:30-3 starting mid September, and going throughout the academic year. Norwich, VT. Museum is open daily. Also offers virtual workshops, online programs, homeschool resources and camps.

Shelburne, VT. Full days of in person activity at a working farm school. For academic year 2021-22, the cost was listed at $1500 per session, and ran from 8:30-3pm (winter session 8:30-1pm). There are 3 sessions offered (fall, winter and spring).

Richmond and Underhill, VT. In-person wilderness programs weekdays from 9-3pm. Some days offer extended hours. Programs run throughout the calendar year.

The Audubon operates in twenty-three states, with 41 centers, 450+ local chapters, and countless events! Visit you local center on your own, or sign up for a class. Quechee, VT. Natural science museum open daily. Also offers homeschool programs, at home resources and K-8 camps.
